For the six courses taken from the subject groups, students earn a grade from 7 to 1, with 7 being the highest grade. These grades are then added, summing up to an overall score of 6 to 42. The Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay are graded differently – successful completion earns students a maximum combined score of 3.
